What are Essential Oils?
I continue to use herbs from my garden to supplement my food; always drink herbal tea and eat garlic when I feel run down; and the good old hot toddy is a go-to during winter months.
About 2 years ago, a friend introduced me to Therapeutic Grade essential oils. Concentrated, hydrophobic liquids or compounds that are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants, they are the pure essence and defense mechanisms that plants use to stay healthy and support immunity. They are also 50 – 70 times more powerful than herbs. I still love using herbs but I thought to myself, “Wow – that much more powerful than herbs, perfectly bottled and available to me all winter when my herbs have been buried under feet of snow?” I couldn’t wait to learn more.
How can I use Essential Oils
Aromatically. This is a fancy way of saying “smell them” or, “diffuse them in the air.” By just sniffing in the powerful aromas, there is an immediate response by our brain, which is stimulated by the different scents and therefore properties of each individual oil. This is the best way to change or lift your mood if you need a little pick-me-up. (I always keep peppermint and wild orange in my car for long drives!)
Topically. That’s right. You can put them on your skin. However, not all essential oils are created equally! Email me to find out the only essential oil company I trust to use in this way. Years ago, in college, I used essential oils. I was told I could NOT put them on my skin – rather could just sniff them or put them on my pillow at night. When I researched and realized that you could put pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils directly on your skin (some “hot” oils should be diluted with coconut or another kind of carrier oil), I couldn’t believe the results. (Did you eat too much? Have stomach discomfort? There is a digestive blend that was made for soothing an upset belly and you can put it directly on your abdomen.)
Internally. The first time my friend told me to swallow a drop of peppermint in my water, I asked her, “What do you put in your oils that makes them ingestible?” She said, “It’s what we DON’T put in them.” The oils I had been using years earlier had added fillers. They may have been heat extracted. (The oils I use are only either cold-pressed (citrus oils) or steam-distilled (plant-based oils) and they have a five-method testing system to ensure the purity and “beyond-organic-ness” of their oils. I was always been the girl at outdoor parties who was inside helping clean all too early in the evening instead of outside enjoying the crackling fire and stars. The Step by step guide to signing up for Wholesale Prices:
1. Review the enrollment kits above and decide which one you would like and which one is in your budget. The $35 enrollment fee is waived if you purchase a starter enrollment kit.
2. I will send you a link to the sign-up page once I hear from you and then you will click JOIN and enter your country.
3. Select “Wholesale Prices”.
4. The “Enroller ID” and “Sponsor ID” boxes should already be filled in for you. If they are not, enter 1023094 in both boxes and the name should come up as Jennie Backstrom.
5. Fill out your name, billing address, shipping address, and contact info. (The reason you are asked to list your social security number is for tax purposes. If you make over $600/year sharing essential oils and oil-infused products with your friends and family, you will receive a 1099 form in the mail, as is required by law. The company will share this info with anyone.)
6. Select your time zone and choose a virtual office password.
